Solange is the youngest of the Knowles music dynasty - you might have heard of her older sister Beyoncé. She made her singing debut at the age of five, was performing with Destiny’s Child at the age of 14 and now at just 22 she has just released her second album to huge acclaim. Throw in acting, modelling and successful clothing line and you’ve got one talented, not to mention busy lady. Somehow PrideLife managed to catch up with Solange to talk family, faith and first date frolics!

Your new album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams has a very Motown vibe, tell us about it…
Yeah, I’m very excited about it. I grew up on that style of music. My parents played Motown endlessly, Marvin Gaye, and then my mum was actually in a 60s girl group called The Veltones. I drew a lot of inspiration from that.
